Associate Producer/Intern.

Actívate is a small independent production company and cultural strategy hub that creates media, engages in cultural preservation, and leads research projects focused on social justice and the arts. Actívate is led by Director/Producer Melissa Beatriz.

The Associate Producer (AP)/Intern will assist the Director/Producer with tasks for Actívate, focused on several media projects.

The following tasks will be part of this role:

• Production support during pre-production, production, and post-production stages of projects

• Story/character research

• Film shoot coordination; character follow-up

• Production assistance

• Administration (research, outreach, creating production documents/templates, etc.)

• Organizing/logging footage

• Assisting with editing

• Other related production tasks as needed

Qualifications.

• Experience in documentary film/media arts

• Familiarity with documentary film phases and how to organize workflows during these stages (development/research, pre-production, production, post-production/distribution)

• Experience filming and editing

• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro

• Able to work well both independently and as part of a team

• Interested in social justice focused work

This position is ideal for recent college graduates or emerging media makers who are looking to gain more experience in documentary film. This work will take place from March to September 2022, for a stipend of $2,000.
